The performance

Toyota RAV4 Crossover 2.2 D-4D Review. Toyota offers 2.0-litre petrol engine, but most buyers will go for one of the two diesel engines. There's a 2.0 liter out 122bhp which comes with front - or four-wheel drive and takes quite excited from low revs. Unfortunately, these machines quickly short of breath. If anything, four wheel drive 148bhp 2.2 model diesel is worse; It is flatter than a 2.0 low and are reluctant to Rev, so forces you to cut your teeth and down more often.

Ride & Handling

RAV4 is not as nimble as Mazda CX-5. However, it hangs well, steer accurately and get really messy when you make only a few change abrupt direction in rapid succession. The journey felt very busy around the city, although this will improve with speed-to the point where the RAV4 seemed well established and fully secure

Repair

The two diesel sends vibrations in the cabin and the rough sounds if you push beyond 3000 rpm, although the 1.4 is very noisy. RAV4 also submits you a bit of wind and road noise. At least the handlebar is smooth and the clutch enough light

Quality & reliability

Pretty disappointing domestic RAV4. Although most models get a faux leather on the dash, dull plastic dominates and hours can be raised since the 1980s Corolla. in a more positive way, Toyota finished fifth in our latest reliability survey, and you get the assurance of a five year warranty.

Safety security

Each model comes with seven airbags and stability control which one under the steering column to protect the driver's knees. However, in the Euro NCAP tests, the RAV4 is not enough and also Mazda CX - 5 for adult and child safety. As most of its competitors, Toyota fit impasse and an alarm to protect your valuables.

Behind the wheel

Comfort the disturbed except if you go for a top-spec cars, because the models do not receive the lower lumbar adjustment and their seats low back support. Infotainment touchscreen (as standard on model spec mid and icon above) also left a bit to be desired because it seems difficult to read in bright conditions. Other readings and controls are fairly straightforward, however, and great visibility forward, thanks to the glass thin pillar.

Space & practicality

RAV4 is one of the largest car in its class, it has plenty of room inside. Four roof will be really comfortable, although the average lifespan of backseat narrow is not good for fifth place, behind the people get even more space for legs than they do in a Honda CR - V and the Mazda CX-5. The chest is also impressive, and the rear seats fold flat enough well

Equipment

Active entry-level cars are equipped with air conditioning, alloy wheels and electric front and rear Windows, but we believe that there need to be promoted to the level of the middle of the setting icon, which adds a speed electronic control tailgate camera of hindsight, DAB radio, cruise control and air conditioning bi-zone. We are not going to bother with a variety of toppings invincible trim
